We are excited to announce that ESRAD is offering two grants of up to 1000 Euros to members to support their research.
Applications for membership may be made at https://www.europeadultdevelopment.org/membership.html and membership is free.
Criteria for applications
Research is eligible for funding that supports ESRAD’s aims of promoting research on expanded capabilities, transitions, and positive change in adulthood. Sample research topics include, but are not limited to, emerging adulthood, established adulthood, midlife development, development in older adulthood, generativity, wisdom, cognitive development, moral development, development through therapy or intervention, adult education, political development, leadership, relationship development or any topic that informs an understanding of adulthood transformation.
Applications for funding to support both empirical and theoretical research are encouraged. All empirical research must receive approval from a recognized IRB or ethics committee.
Funding can support existing / pending funding for a mid-size or large project or be the sole source of funding for a small-scale project.
Eligible costs covered by the grant include (a) staffing costs, (b) travel costs, (c) directly incurred costs such as payments to participants or equipment.
Kindly note that currency restrictions as applied from time to time may prevent us from sending funds to your country, in which case, with regret we will be unable to award you a grant. If you are in doubt, please check with your local bank.
Process of Application
Applicants must complete the Small Grants Initiative application form (approx. 1000 words in total) via the official online submission form available at this link.
Applicants are required to upload their CV and a covering letter directly within the form.
The deadline for submissions is April 30th, 2026. Decisions will be communicated to applicants by May 30th, 2026.
The Grant: payment, timing and outputs
Funds will be paid in full up front. Projects must be completed with 18 months of the award being made.
Successful applicants will be asked to present their research, either online or in person, at the ESRAD Conference, summer 2027.
