President Dr. Oliver Robinson, University of Greenwich I am the author of "Development through Adulthood: An integrative sourcebook", published by Palgrave Macmillan. My own empirical research focuses on how major life transitions and crises affect emotional development, ego development and identity development, and how adult development concepts can be applied in various contexts. I use qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods, and write on the philosophy of methodology. Vice President
Teresa Maria Sgaramella Ph.D., Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Education and Applied Psychology. University of Padova, Italy. My research career has developed along several lines and in different research contexts giving me the opportunity to study and develop expertise in neuropsychology, cognitive and psychosocial functioning, as well as career issues across life span. My main interests deal with executive functioning and psychological resources (namely resilience and future time perspective) and contextual determinants on Positive Development, with a particular attention to Adult Development. Research and study interests are then tailored to develop preventive programs fostering school, social and work participation, as well as Personal and social future life designing and goals. These themes are addressed with both quantitative and qualitative methods such as qualitative interview and storytelling. I’ve been actively involved in several European projects aimed at university teaching and professionals continuing education. Currently I coordinate the International GRES (Group for Research in Executive Skills). |
Honorary President
Dr. Eeva Kallio, University of Jyväskylä Eeva K. Kallio, in her research career in the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, has primarily studied the development of adult thinking and wisdom. In addition, she has participated in several development projects of university teaching and worked also more generally as an instructor, counsellor and lecturer in the field of adult education. Her main research interests relate to the concepts used in psychology and educational science, including their meta-theoretical and historical consideration. She is a founding member and the first president (2011-2016) of European Society for Research on Adult Development and also a member of the respective editorial board of Journal of Adult Development. She is mentioned in the large reference edition Oxford University Online Bibliographies as one of the pioneers in the research of the development of adult thinking. She has edited lately book of adult cognitive development in Finnish (Ajattelun kehitys aikuisuudessa), which has been success (5 editions in 12months time after launching plus electronic edition). Currently she is coordinator of the Sophia & Phronesis European wisdom network. Modified and updated book in English is in preparation. Her long-term interests include the history of cultural cosmology, Chinese metaphysics and active practice of taiji and qigong. |

Mr. Nick Shannon, MA, MBA, MSc, C Psychol, AFBPsS Nick Shannon is the founder and principal of Management Psychology Limited, a UK based practice specializing in organizational and management development. Nick is a Chartered Psychologist, a member of the British Psychological Society and a founding member of the Association of Business Psychologists. Nick’s varied career has involved working variously as a commodity and derivatives trader, a director of a foreign exchange business, and a restaurateur. Working as a consultant to organisations in the private and public sectors for the last 20 years, Nick believes passionately in the value of a combination of philosophical inquiry and rigorous scientific methodology. He has a particular interest in the cognitive and emotional transitions that managers must make in order to work effectively at successively higher levels of complexity and hierarchy. His work with clients involves coaching and facilitation to develop more effective management teams with a focus on improving organisational performance and providing a better environment for their staff. |

Iva Vurdelja I am an independent executive coach, organization development strategist, and educator. During my 20+ yr years of working with leaders in Fortune 500 companies and government agencies, I have integrated adult development theory and dialectical thinking into my leadership coaching and consulting practice. I enable organizational professionals to navigate and sustain large-scale, complex change by helping them to build deep thinking, leadership, and decision-making capabilities. Through practicing transformative learning and meta-systemic thinking, I am introducing new ways for business professionals to reflect on who they are as leaders, how they relate to and impact others, and how they enable their organizations to thrive and create value for a broad range of stakeholders. I am a faculty member at the Quinlan School of Business at Loyola University Chicago and at the Graduate School of Management at Marquette University, where I teach MBA courses in organizational ethics, corporate social responsibility, character-driven leadership, leading organizational change, and talent development. Board Member Dr. Natalia Waechter is a Tenure Track Professor in Social Pedagogy at the University of Graz, Austria, Department of Educational Studies. My research focuses on generations, young people and young adults, digitalization und social inequalities, media education, identity and development, migration and ethnic minorities, and international comparative quantitative and qualitative studies. I am German partner and project leader (at the LMU Munich) in the ongoing EU research project “ySKILLS” (2020-2023) investigating digital skills of young people. My most recent book “The Construction of European Identity among Ethnic Minorities. ‘Euro-Minorities’ in Generational Perspective” was released in 2019. I am editorial board member of the Austrian Journal of Sociology (Springer), Emerging Adulthood (Sage), and Youth and Globalization (Brill). |
Board Member Dr. Salla Ahola holds a PhD in Social Psychology from The University of Helsinki. Her longstanding research interests include personal values and knowledge-related issues such as epistemic cognition and stances towards expert knowledge. She is currently affiliated with Tampere University, at the Faculty of Management and Business, where her research has focused on wellbeing at work among employees and entrepreneurs. Board Member Garry Nicholson. I am an adult learning and skills manager for Newcastle City Council's adult learning service and a PhD research student and academic tutor with the Faculty of Education and Society at the University of Sunderland. Previously I have taught in the school sector in the United Kingdom and Middle East. My research focuses on educators’ practical wisdom, Socratic dialogues, and the philosophical concept of Bildung (self-formation). |

Dr. Marc Lucas (PhD in Psychology, MBA), HMKW University Marc Lucas is professor of economic and business psychology at University for Media, Communication and Economics (HMKW) in Cologne, Germany as well as founder of Lucoco Lucas Consulting & Counseling. His main interests are in the integration of such diverse fields as adult development in leadership, education and organization, neuro-leadership, organizational trauma prevention, crisis-management, and arts-inspired qualitative research as well as integrative and integral meta-theorizing. |

Katja Hleb, (MSc. Psych., u.d.psych)., University of Ljubljana Katja Hleb is a PhD candidate holds University and MSc. degrees in Psychology and University degree (bologna master) in Kinesiology. At the moment she is a PhD candidate at Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, her main investigative interdisciplinary focus is leadership, in connection with developmental psychology and more precisely orders of consciousness. She researches how top executives develop as leaders and how this development influences their leadership style and the organisations they lead. She has 25 years of experience in the field of executive search, selection and development and vast experience in advising an actively participating in designing and forming top edge human potential management strategies and practices, operating in 8 CEE countries in several industries, pharmaceutical, finance, IT/TC, FMCG, etc. She has developed a PDP, authored program for helping design personal purpose/career development plan for founders, owners and top executives of the companies and executed more than 70 PDPs for top class founders, owners and executives, internationally. She has lectured at several HR conferences and has written more than 100 articles to Management and Entrepreneurship related media. She is a certified mediator at the Court of Justice in Republic of Slovenia and has served as the President of the National Committee for proposing and selecting the members of the Supervisory Boards to biggest state owned enterprises at Slovenian state holding (SDH). |
Vice Member Dr. Clare M. Mehta PhD West Virginia University (U.S.A) Originally from the U.K., Dr. Clare M. Mehta is currently an Associate Professor in Psychology at Emmanuel College in Boston and a Staff Scientist in the Division for Adolescent Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Mehta holds a Master of Research in Education from the University of Bath (U.K.), and a Master of Science and PhD in Lifespan Developmental Psychology from West Virginia University (U.S.A). For the last twenty years, Dr. Mehta’s main research area was gender, gender identity, and social relationships in adulthood. Her current research focus is Established Adulthood, the period of development from 30-45. Dr. Mehta’s work has been published in American Psychologist, Sex Roles, Developmental Review, and the Journal of Sex Research. She is past president of the American Psychological Association’s Division 1, the Society for General Psychology, and serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Adult Development. |
